About The Event
Don't miss the Atlanta Symphony's return to Savannah Music Festival on April 3, 2022! For tickets and more information visit savannahmusicfestival.org The program includes a piece commissioned for the ASO and Maestro Spano, The Parallactic Transits, that invites audiences to look to the stars. The orchestra is joined by the explosively talented mandolin player, Avi Avital. The first mandolin soloist to be nominated for a classical Grammy award, Avital joins the ASO to play a brand-new mandolin concerto from composer Jennifer Higdon. The concert ends with Maestro Spano conducting Rimsky-Korsakov's classic Scheherazade, the story of the crafty wife of the sultan who spins epic tales with cliffhanger endings for 1,001 nights.
